The Quarantine Unit organized a food safety training programme for staff of Port and Airport Health Offices, as well as other institutions under its purview, in collaboration with the Medical Officer of Health Unit – Battaramulla. The programme included a comprehensive two-day workshop combining theoretical sessions with hands-on practical experience. Participants engaged in field inspections of multiple food handling establishments within the Battaramulla area, enhancing their skills in food safety assessment and regulatory compliance. This initiative contributed to strengthening the capacity of public health staff in maintaining food safety standards at Points of Entry.
